Basilica of St Denis

The Basilica of Saint-Denis is a Gothic church in the center of the city of Saint-Denis.

Situated in Seine-Saint-Denis, only 5 kilometers north of Paris, the Basilica of Saint-Denis was intended to accommodate the royal tombs. 

It is thus the necropolis of the kings of France from direct Robertians and Capetian, although several Merovingian and Carolingian kings chose to rest there before them.

Saint-Denis basilica is the subject of a classification as historical monuments in 1862. The garden that surrounds the subject of a classification as historical monuments since August 19, 1926.
